Alanna Savor, INSTRUCTOR, CUSTOMER ASTONISHMENT TEAM MANAGER
Alanna joins us from La Crosse, Wisconsin, where she grew up studying, performing and competing all styles of dance. She went on to attend Purdue University, where she danced and choreographed for the Higher Ground Dance Company. Alanna was also a member of the Purdue Golduster Dance Team, which allowed her the opportunity to perform at weekly BIG 10 sporting events and dance in both the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. Alanna has a background in hospitality and event planning, and in her free time, enjoys traveling, photography and playing with her cat, Fran. She is very excited to join such a wonderful community and can't wait to get to know the students and families at Elite!
Alexa Schuessler, INSTRUCTOR
Alexa is originally from Long Island, New York and relocated to Broomfield in August 2016! She grew up in ballet, lyrical, tap and jazz classes. In middle school, Alexa discovered her passion for musical theatre and musical theatre dance! She has choreographed, directed, and produced numerous productions in schools, community theatres and colleges. Alexa graduated from The State University of New York at Geneseo with a degree in Communicative Disorders and Sciences and Musical Theatre and got her Master's Degree from Columbia University. She currently works as a speech therapist during the day and loves spending her evenings with the Elite Family! When not dancing or teaching, she loves doing crafts, hiking and singing!
Bree Ray, INSTRUCTOR, PRE-PRO DIRECTOR
Bree has been dancing and performing for 30 years. She is going into her 15th season teaching at Elite Dance Academy as a Teacher and Company Director. Bree has choreographed many award winning pieces and has trained dancers that are successful in the industry today. Bree has been a member of professional dance teams including Colorado Crush and Rockstarz. Bree has been a Director and Choreographer for Dream Project. Bree is married and also mommy to a handsome little man, Jaxson and a beautiful little girl, Adley. She and her family, including two wonderful dogs, love calling Colorado home and can't imagine being anywhere else.
Brittany King, INSTRUCTOR, ALL-STAR POMS DIRECTOR
Brittany has been a dancer since the age of three. She started her dancing career at Dancing with Celeste in Sioux City, IA. There she studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary and musical theater. Departing from the studio life at age 13, Brittany joined her high school dance team, the Sergeant Bluff-Luton Dazzlers where her team performed all four years at the Iowa State Dance Team Association competition. After graduating from high school in 2012, Brittany got accepted to Iowa State University in Ames, IA where she later graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts with an emphasis in dance. At ISU, she studied modern, contemporary, tap, jazz, ballet, musical theater, hip hop, ballroom, African, capoeira and Irish step dancing. Brittany has recently moved to Westminster, Colorado from Iowa to pursue her master’s degree in dance at the University of Colorado in Boulder where she hopes will land her a career in teaching dance at a college level. Brittany’s long-term goal is to own her own studio someday where she will teach what she loves. She is very thankful for the opportunity to continue what she loves doing with amazing co-workers and students.
JeniSue Lopez, INSTRUCTOR/ PRODUCTIONS DIRECTOR
JeniSue Lopez has been active in the dance world for thirty years. She began competing regionally and nationally at the age of five, and began traveling as an assistant to her director at the age of eleven. JeniSue performed in a couple of shows with the Boulder based professional jazz company, Blue Moon, also at the age of eleven. She started training from world-renowned dancers on the convention circuit, mainly on a scholarship basis, then decided to graduate high school early in order to continue her dance studies in Los Angeles. While in Los Angeles, JeniSue, at the age of seventeen, signed with an agent and trained at the EDGE Performing Arts Center as well as the Millennium Performing Arts Complex. JeniSue has trained in Cecchetti and Vaganova ballet methods from principle dancers of the Joffrey Ballet, Kirov Ballet, and New York City Ballet. While ballet is where her heart and soul is, she is trained in numerous other styles of dance including jazz, modern, contemporary, tap and hip hop to name a few. She also trained in Graham from one of Martha Graham’s original company members. JeniSue has been teaching for sixteen years, eleven of those at Elite Dance Academy, and continues her dance education annually in Los Angeles as well as in the Denver convention circuit. Some of JeniSue’s most rewarding credits include being a wife to her husband, Jake and a mother to her daughter, Jaydalyn and sons, Jacob Lane and Jedd Thomas.
Kayla Longstreth, INSTRUCTOR, PERFORMANCE TEAM DIRECTOR, DIAMONDS DIRECTOR
Kayla, 22, has been dancing since she could walk. Competing in competitions since she was 6. Kayla has danced and choreographed for different artist, shows, and teams. She was a dancer for the show "The Big Green Rabbit", was a Colorado Crushable dancer for the Colorado Crush football team, a current member of Dream Project Dance Company, and many more. When Kayla is not dancing, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring, camping, and many other activities. She couldn't be more excited to be a part of Elite Dance Academy!>/p>
Kelly Dornan grew up and received her early training in central Maryland. In 2011, she began attending The Washington School of Ballet on scholarship under Kee Juan Han, Kristina Windom, Vladimir Djouloukhaze and Monique Meunier. During her time at the school, Kelly had the honor to perform in George Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes with the company. After graduating, Kelly trained on scholarship at Texas Ballet Theater School under Ben Stevenson, Charmaine Hunter, and Kathy Warakomsky, where she performed in Ben Stevenson’s Dracula and Harald Lander’s Etudes with the company. In 2014, she joined Colorado Ballet’s Studio Company for three seasons under the direction of former ABT principal Gil Boggs. Kelly performed roles in Christopher Wheeldon’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Derek Deane’s Romeo and Juliet, and Swan Lake. In addition, she performed Balanchine’s Serenade at the Vail International Dance Festival alongside NYCB’s Lauren Lovette. Most recently, Kelly danced for Georgia Dance Theatre under the direction of Sherri Davis, where she began teaching ballet to all ages and levels. Kelly joined Boulder Ballet for the 2019-20 season and is thrilled to be a new addition to the Elite team!
Laurie Davis, INSTRUCTOR
Laurie Davis credits her versatile tap, musical theatre, character, jazz, lyrical and acrobatic work as her specialties of dance and teaching, along with her well known energetic and unique abilities. She is honored and continues to be a recipient for Regional and National Award winning Choreography and Entertaining recognitions. Laurie has trained under the best of the best in all styles of dance as well as a National tumbler, Jr. Olympic & State champion gymnast and a professional juggler. Her many teacher mentors include James Rossanas, Gregory Hines, Danny Hoctor, Shirley Harkness, Rod Hill, Frank Hatchett, Tony Coppola and Mike Pickering. Laurie's experienced opportunities are endless, but being invited to perform over-seas with the USO and Bob Hope and having repeated guest performances at the Sahara in Las Vegas were special honors. Laurie currently loves being invited to travel as an annual judicator for many Regional and National Dance Competitions. Laurie's four decades of teaching currently continues! Her greatest passion is to share her heart for dance with children of all ages and abilities. Laurie"s greatest pride are her daughter and son and her grandson at CSU and granddaughter in high school.
Mariana Fanelli-Poole, INSTRUCTOR, COMPANY DIRECTOR
Ana is from Colorado and grew up here her entire life. She has been dancing since she was 2. She has danced competitively since she was 6. She danced for Tremaine, and her Varsity High School Poms team. She was a dance major in college at Colorado Mesa University as well as on the Poms team. Professionally she danced for the Colorado Mammoth Lacrosse team called The Wild Bunch. She has been teaching since she was 14 and loves all styles of dance, and can teach all ages as well.
Meghan Sullivan, INSTRUCTOR / COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIP COORDINATOR
Meghan grew up dancing in the mountains of Summit County, Colorado. Meghan fell in love with dance and began performing and competing at an early age. Meghan is trained in the dance styles of jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary, modern, tap, and hip-hop. Meghan has been on staff at Elite Dance Academy since 2010 and is currently a Master Teacher, Performance Team Director, Nutcracker choreographer, Special Events Coordinator and Community Liason. Meghan graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a Bachelor of Arts in communication. Meghan is currently a dancer and board member of Dream Project Dance Company, a local non-profit in the Denver area.
Monica Weller, INSTRUCTOR
Monica Weller is currently studying for her Master Fine Arts Degree in Dance Performance at CU Boulder. She graduated from Northern Illinois University with her Bachelor Fine Arts Degree in Dance Performance in 2011. Monica recently moved here from Chicago, IL and is loving her dance program and the beautiful scenery. Monica performed with Interweave Dance Theatre as part of Boulder Jazz Dance this past August. Before moving to Colorado Monica was the rehearsal director for Meraki Dance Company and taught dance at Forte Arts Center. She also performed for 5 seasons with Chicago Dance Crash whose most notable pieces include “Dance For Life 25th Anniversary”, “Tron”, “The Cotton Mouth Club”, “New Alaska”. “This Way Comes” an original Dance film and many more. Monica also produced, danced and choreographed a dance film entitled “The End and the Beginning” which premiered in February 2017. She is so excited to be apart of EDA and dance with all the talented students and teachers!
Malana has been dancing since she was two. Her favorite styles of dance are contemporary and musical theatre. Malana specializes with the 2-5 year olds but hopes to grow to to specialize in all age groups. She is still currently a student at elite and hopes to teach full time when she graduates. Her favorite part about teaching is getting to know all the amazing kids and watching them grow. Other hobbies she enjoys is drawing, painting, arts and crafts, and special effects makeup.
OWNER/ARTISTIC DIRECTOR - Lisa Pevateaux
Lisa has been dancing for twenty-six years. She began dancing on scholarship at Starstruck Dance Academy during and throughout high school. Lisa choreographed and performed the second place ESPN national pom pon routine in her senior year in high school. Lisa has been instructing students' dance for the past eighteen years. She has taught at dance studios throughout Colorado and the surrounding states. She has choreographed for several high school pom pon and dance squads as well as college squads. Lisa has a substantial professional performance background as well. She was a Denver Nuggets Dance Team member for four years and she directed the team in her final season during a playoff year. She was a Denver Broncos cheerleader for three seasons and in her final year she performed at Superbowl 32. Lisa continues to participate as a judge for the Denver Nuggets Dance Team annual auditions as well as teaches master technique classes for the team. Lisa is also still involved with the Denver Broncos cheerleaders and will be a technical judge during their auditions this upcoming season. Lisa's performing credits include dancing in the Las Vegas Revue “Pizzazz” for a season run. She also performed as a core dancer in the Denver Center Theater production of Star Fever in the Space Theater. Lisa has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Lisa is living in Denver with her husband, Chris, their two sons, John David and Chase and their dogs, Paxton and Dax.
BUSINESS OPERATIONS AND ORGANIZATION MANAGER - Brandy Wegscheider
Brandy has been dancing in Colorado since the age of three. She grew up doing studio dance in Golden, Colorado and poms at Golden High School. She went on to dance for the University of Colorado Boulder for two years and has been a Dream Project member for seven seasons. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in business administration and accounting and has her physical education teaching license as well. She currently works full time for Elite Dance Academy. Brandy says, "Elite can fulfill the dreams of any dancer, teacher or other staff member!! It fills my soul and through Elite I have met so many incredible women that I now call my life-long best friends!"
CUSTOMER ASTONISHMENT REPRESENTATIVE - Jennifer Soderfelt
When Jen is not at Elite, she is a 5th grade teacher, as well as a proud mother and wife. A Colorado native, Jen received her undergraduate degrees from the University of Colorado and her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Elite is like a second home for Jen, as her oldest daughter took her first class here 10 years ago. When she is not at Elite, she loves walking her dog and being with her family.
CUSTOMER ASTONISHMENT REPRESENTATIVE/MARKETING COORDINATOR - Gabby Bresler
Gabby has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She now dances for Dream Project Dance Company - a non-profit dance company based in Denver. As a recent graduate from The University of Colorado at Boulder she could not be more thrilled to be working in a space that fosters her greatest passion. Dance is very important to Gabby so being able to work at Elite is very special to her.
