Elite in the Community
We like having fun, but we especially like having fun with a purpose. That's why we make time throughout the year to give back to the community in special ways. We participate in community events, perform in parades, fundraise for great local, national and worldwide causes, and encourage our dancers, families, and staff to give back to the communities that we are a part of! See some of our past community involvement and upcoming opportunities below!

National Dance Honor Society for Dance Arts
elite owner, Lisa Pevateaux has recently started a NEW Chapter of the National Dance Honor Society for Dance Arts in Colorado through NDEO (National Dance Education Organization). It is her intention to honor and recognize dancers and their commitment to their art form/passion. This is a nationally recognized program which envisions a nation in which all students have equal opportunity and access to quality dance arts education and are recognized for their outstanding artistic merit, leadership and academic achievement in the field of dance. We at elite, along with NDEO, want to foster an appreciation for dance as a true art form worthy of recognition and prestige.
SHARE A GIFT 2015
THANK YOU to all the families that donated toys and books to our Share-A-Gift toy drive. On their shopping day this year, Share-A-Gift had 663 families shop for gifts for 1667 children. Your donations made a difference in our community this holiday season. Way to go! And a big shout out to DRIVE Team members, Anna Bligh, Allison Armstrong and Peyton Kortefor working all day assisting families in the shop. We are so proud of you!
SHARE A GIFT 2014
Elite was a 2014 drop-site for SHARE-A-GIFT this Holiday season. Elite donated 4 boxes of toys to the Share-A-Gift organization!
Share-A-Gift is an all-volunteer, non-secular annual holiday project that provides toys, books, and bicycles for children of low-income families in the area of Colorado’s Boulder Valley School District. Each year, Share-A-Gift helps connect over 600 families representing over 1500 girls and boys, birth to age 14, with community donations.
Share-A-Gift collects toys at sites around the city of Boulder and in areas of eastern Boulder County starting Thanksgiving week through the middle of December. Volunteers set up and organize a “Toy Shop” in a donated warehouse space where toys are distributed to families-in-need. On a single day, all eligible parents are able to come and “shop” – selecting toys for their children with the help of 100s of volunteer assistants.
To be successful each holiday season, Share-A-Gift needs thousands of new and gently-used toys, books, games, puzzles, and bikes for infants, children and adolescents up to age 14. Share-A-Gift allows Boulder families and children the opportunity to meaningfully participate in gift-sharing by donating new or gently-used toys, books, and bikes with families who will appreciate getting these gifts.
Community Leadership & Dance Workshop
In December 2015, our dancers came together to celebrate our talents, our gratitude for endless opportunties and our ability to encourage those who are less fortunate.
Elite alumni instructor/director, Carissa Chen, a program director for Manna Project International, held a Community Leadership & Dance Workshop at elite Dance Academy in Broomfield. Carissa teaches dance in Nicaragua to young girls who come from families that live on only $2 each day. In a country that faces extreme poverty and among people who have so little, Carissa has learned the power of dance is much greater than just teaching choreography, pirouettes and grand jetés. Above all, dance teaches girls they can see their wildest dreams come true!
During the workshop we...
• discussed the power of dance
• strategized how to become leaders in our community
• wrote letters of encouragement to dancers in Nicaragua
• did what we do best - dance!
All proceeds went to fund Carissa's efforts in Nicaragua 2016.

Our Elite Pre-Pros volunteered at the We Care event for the Boys & Girls Club of Denver. Boys & Girls Clubs provide young people with opportunities to engage in programs that help them achieve academic success, take charge of their health by building healthy habits that will stick with them throughout their lives, and foster the skills they need to become leaders in their communities.
