Dance Classes For Ages 6 - 8

Classes for First & Second Graders

Elite Dance Academy’s Level One dance classes for ages 6 - 8 allow students to dive into their love for dance with more class options, longer class times and the same fun and supportive environment that they love from Elite’s early childhood dance program! Students form lifelong friendships and build community, while exploring their interests in dance. EDA’s expert instructors teach appropriately challenging dance curriculum that help them to progress into Elite’s Level Two dance classes for ages 9 - 11.

Acro

The acro class welcomes dancers ages 5 - 8 that love an extra-active, high-energy class! Acro combines strength, flexibility and fun in this 45-minute class. Dancers are introduced to skill-level appropriate movements and skills in a safe and encouraging environment. Classes begin with stretches to prepare for endurance and flexibility needed to perform movements safely, before diving into fun tumbling, floor and in-center movements. Acro is a perfect complementary class to take with any dance class to learn new skills! Please note, Acro students do not perform in annual recitals or shows.

Ballet

Level one ballet classes build the technical foundation for dancers, focusing on introductory ballet movement, skills, techniques and terminology. These 45-minute classes develop strength, coordination, flexibility and body awareness through ballet barre warm-ups, training of proper ballet technique and combinations using classical ballet movements. Dancers develop focus, discipline and attention to detail while gaining confidence in their movement in a supportive environment. This class sets the stage for dancers transitioning from our Super Stars program, or those ready to focus on classical technique in Elite’s level two program.

Beginning Tap

Elite’s beginning tap class welcomes students ages 5 - 10 that want to explore rhythm, sound and musicality through the art of tap dancing! Dancers learn basic tap movements, rhythms, terminology and timing in this 45-minute class. Beginner tap is a great choice for dancers looking to build strong musicality and add a rhythmic style to their dance training!

Hip Hop

Elite’s level one hip hop class is perfect for high energy dancers that want to build their foundation in this fun, upbeat style of dance! In this 45-minute class, dancers are introduced to new hip hop movements and terminology, styles and performance techniques, and basic tricks used in this genre of dance. These fast-paced classes strengthen choreography retention and confidence, helping dancers develop coordination, rhythm, strength and musicality while expressing their individuality and style. Hip hop is the perfect class for dancers transitioning from our Super Stars program, or those ready to grow in a dynamic, performance-based style.

Jazz

Dancers explore this energetic style of dance while building strong technical foundations of the genre, learning terminology and mastering basic jazz movements. Dancers work on coordination, flexibility, strength, expression and musicality through fast-paced and exciting choreography in 45-minute classes. Level one jazz classes are a great next step for dancers transitioning from our Super Stars program, or looking to grow in a high-energy style!

Mini Crew

Go above and beyond with Elite Dance Academy’s Mini Crew! Dancers learn extra choreography in an additional weekly class to prepare for bonus community performances, while building stage presence, confidence and teamwork skills. Mini Crew performances are separate from recital and/or Nutcracker performances, and team members receive special recital costumes and t-shirts.

Poms

Elite Dance Academy’s level one poms class combines dance skills with energy, precision and enthusiasm! Every 45-minute class combines the flexibility and cardiovascular training of dance classes, with foundational poms technique and terminology. Dancers learn beginner poms movements, including introductory jumps, leaps and turns, to build strength, coordination and confidence. Poms class is a perfect next step for dancers transitioning from our Super Stars program, or those interested in the spirited, performance-driven style of poms.

Reach your goals and build community at Elite Dance Academy with our “You Pick Two” program! The most common choice for students in the Level One program is to take at least two classes per week to progress their skills and establish a routine with their teachers and fellow students!

MINI CREW: Monthly tuition for Mini Crew is $81. Tuition includes one hour-long weekly rehearsal class, costumes and additional resources for this performance crew for ages 5 - 8. Learn more about Mini Crew and our other non-competitive dance teams here.

MEMBERSHIP FEES: Includes an annual membership fee of $54 per dancer, or $91 per family.

PERFORMANCE FEES: Performance fees are $221 per dancer, per show. Performances include our Nutcracker (December) and Recital (June) shows. Families are responsible for costumes costs associated with each class and performance. Nutcracker performance fees are charged on October 1, or on the first of the following month if enrolled after this date. Recital performance fees are charged on January 15, or on the first of the following month if enrolled after this date.

PAYMENTS: The first month of tuition, membership and performance fees are due upon enrollment. Families can choose to pay all tuition and additional fees up front for a 3% discount, or pay in 11 installments. Installment plans require a full semester commitment, and are charged on the 15th of the month from July - May. Credit cards incur a 3% fee. Any families that pay in cash will be required to keep another form of payment on file.
