Dance Classes For Ages 8 - 11

Classes for Third - Fifth Graders

Elite Dance Academy’s level two dance classes help students ages 8 - 11 dive into their love for dance with more class options, longer class times and the same fun and supportive environment that they love from Elite’s level one dance classes! Students form lifelong friendships and build community, while exploring their interest in dance. EDA’s expert instructors teach appropriately challenging dance curriculum that help them to progress into Elite‘s level three / four dance classes for preteens and teens.

Acro

Acro welcomes beginner students that love an extra-active, high-energy class! Acro combines strength, flexibility and fun in this 45-minute class. Dancers are introduced to skill-level appropriate movements and skills in a safe and encouraging environment. Classes begin with stretches to prepare for endurance and flexibility needed to perform movements safely, before diving into fun tumbling, floor and in-center movements. Acro is a perfect complementary class to take with any dance class to learn new skills! Please note, Acro students do not perform in annual recitals or shows.

Intermediate acro class is for dancers ages 9+ that want to advance their acrobatics training! Students increase their strength, control, and technical precision with complex skills in challenging hour-long classes. Students must receive teacher placement to enroll in this class to ensure safety and proper expectations. Intermediate acro is perfect for dancers that want to elevate their strength and skill set. Please note: this class does not perform in recital and therefore does not incur performance fees.

Ballet

Level two ballet & pre-pointe class deepens dancer’s training to take their technique to the next level in a more focused and disciplined environment. This two-hour long class introduces more advanced ballet movements and terminology, while teaching the history of ballet to help students build a holistic appreciation of the art form. As part of this extended class, dancers also have pre-pointe training to develop the technique and strength needed for dancing in pointe shoes. This class is ideal for dancers ready to commit to stronger technique and continued progression in ballet training.

Beginning Tap

Elite’s beginning tap class welcomes students ages 5 - 11 that want to explore rhythm, sound and musicality through the art of tap dancing! Dancers learn basic tap movements, rhythms, terminology and timing in this 45-minute class. Beginner tap is a great choice for dancers looking to build strong musicality and add a rhythmic style to their dance training!

Contemporary

Level two contemporary introduces third - fifth grade dancers to a new and expressive style that blends technique with artistry and emotion. This one-hour class expands dancer’s expressions of emotion and explores deeper connection to music and storytelling, while developing technique through intricate combinations. This class is ideal for dancers ready to explore a more expressive style, while continuing to build strength, control and creativity.

Hip Hop

Elite’s level two hip hop is a dynamic, performance-driven class that explores and expands student’s knowledge of movements, terminology, tricks and techniques. These one-hour classes are taught at a faster pace, challenging dancers to improve choreography retention, musicality and execution. Level two hip hop introduces improvisation to allow students to explore their own unique styles and presence. Hip hop is the perfect class for dancers that want to grow their confidence, strength and cardio endurance in these high-energy classes!

jazz

Dancers expand their skills and knowledge of this energetic style of dance in level two classes. One-hour classes introduce more advanced turns, leaps and dynamic movements with combination instruction to help dancers grow their confidence and improve versatility. Dancers work on coordination, flexibility, strength, expression and musicality through fast-paced and exciting choreography. Level two jazz classes are a great next step for dancers ready to improve their strength style and performance with more challenging choreography.

Junior crew

Students can take their passion for dance beyond the classroom with Elite Dance Academy’s Junior Crew! This high-energy performance team learns two exciting routines that are featured roles in Elite’s magical Nutcracker production, while building a tight-knit community with team bonding events and celebrations. Dancers must be enrolled in at least two other classes to join. There is a one-time fee of $153, which supplies costumes, accessories and Junior Crew apparel applied to cover costumes, accessories and CREW apparel. This fee can be split into two installments upon request.

Musical Theatre

Elite Dance Academy’s musical theatre class welcomes students in third - eighth grade that love to perform and want to find more opportunities to shine on stage! This one-hour class combines jazz technique with the excitement of performing, creating a dynamic and engaging experience for every dancer. Students enjoy a combination of singing, dancing and acting while learning how to connect movement with character and expression. Through high-energy choreography and theatrical training, dancers will build confidence, stage presence and performance skills. Dancers work on several mini-musicals throughout the year, giving them the opportunity to explore different characters, styles and stories. Musical theatre is ideal for dancers who love the spotlight and want to grow as well-rounded performers both on, and off, the stage!

Elite Dance Academy’s level two poms class combines dance skills with energy, precision and enthusiasm! One-hour classes combine the flexibility and cardiovascular training of dance classes, while introducing more advanced jumps, leaps, turns and formation to build strength, coordination and confidence. Poms two is a perfect next step for dancers transitioning Elite’s Poms one class, or those who love energetic, performance-driven movements that take their skills to the next level!

Silks

Soar, spin, and climb in Elite Dance Academy’s exciting aerial silks class! Dancers in third - twelfth grade build strength, flexibility and confidence by exploring movement in the air. Instruction focuses on foundational aerial skills in a safe and supportive environment, with an emphasis on proper technique and gradual skill progression. Aerial silks class is a great choice for dancers looking to learn unique and challenging skills that empower their training in any genre. Please note that this class is non-performing, and therefore does not incur performance fees.

Reach your goals and build community at Elite Dance Academy with our “You Pick Two” program! The most common choice for students in the Level Two program is to take at least two classes per week to progress their skills and establish a routine with their teachers and fellow students!

JUNIOR CREW: Monthly tuition for Junior Crew is $81. Tuition includes one hour-long weekly rehearsal class, costumes and additional resources for this performance crew for ages 8 - 11. Learn more about Junior Crew and our other non-competitive dance teams here.

MEMBERSHIP FEES: Includes an annual membership fee of $54 per dancer, or $91 per family.

PERFORMANCE FEES: Performance fees are $221 per dancer, per show. Performances include our Nutcracker (December) and Recital (June) shows. Families are responsible for costumes costs associated with each class and performance. Nutcracker performance fees are charged on October 1, or on the first of the following month if enrolled after this date. Recital performance fees are charged on January 15, or on the first of the following month if enrolled after this date.

PAYMENTS: The first month of tuition, membership and performance fees are due upon enrollment. Families can choose to pay all tuition and additional fees up front for a 3% discount, or pay in 11 installments. Installment plans require a full semester commitment, and are charged on the 15th of the month from July - May. Credit cards incur a 3% fee. Any families that pay in cash will be required to keep another form of payment on file.
